PLASTIC ROTATIONAL MOULDING (ROTOMOULDING)
|
| |
Armor-pro have access to some of China's leading plastic rotational moulding manufacturers. We can supply Australian companies with quotes for manufacturing rotomoulding tooling and then the per unit cost for ongoing component moulding production.
|
| |
Plastic Rotational moulding (rotomoulding) is a highly cost-effective way of manufacturing low, or high-volume plastic products and components.
Tooling costs for rotational moulding are much lower than in other plastic moulding processes such as injection or blow moulding, and recent technological advances and developments in new materials have made it possible to manufacture very high specification technical components using the rotomoulding process.
Reasons for plastic rotational moulding include:
|
| |
- Rotomoulding tooling costs are typically lower than other moulds.
- Plastic rotational moulding is made of a one piece construction, no welds, joins making them virtually stress free and can be totally enclosed or with openings.
- Rotational moulding wall thickness of each component can be even and or varied.
- Rotomoulding can have no joins so is typically stronger and therefore can be made lighter, and with less plastic.
- Wide variety of available materials to suit many applications where strength, rigidity, chemical resistance, UV resistance, temperature resistance and impact resistance are important.
- Plastic Rotomoulding can be produced in nearly any colour and with a variety of surface finishes.
- Can produce multi walled mouldings.
- Materials can be recycled and still have excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking and corrosion.
- Metal inserts can easily be moulded in.
- Design flexibility, from small and intricate to large and complex rotational moulds.
- Structural and load bearing components can be moulded and filled with foam to give them immense strength.
- Plastic Rotational moulding is economical for low, medium and high volume production runs.

Plastic rotational moulding Process:
|
| |
The process of plastic rotational moulding involves the placing of a pre-measured charge of powdered polymer inside a split mould.
The mould is then rotated for a preset period of time around two axis, whilst travelling through a preheated oven, to evenly distribute the melting material around the inside of the mould.
The mould is removed from the oven whilst continuing to rotate, and when cool, the moulded part is extracted from the mould for the rotational moulding to begin again.

| |
Plastic Rotational moulding tooling is formed from:
|
| |
- CNC machined aluminium.
- Cast aluminium.
- Fabricated steel.

Our bi-lingual agents monitor all of our sourced China rotational moulding manufacturers. Our control and quality assurance programmes ensure that only quality tooling and mould production is delivered.
|
| |
For a no obligation quote simply email us a copy of the CAD design or engineering plans for the plastic rotational moulding you want manufactured in China.
Please define as much imformation about the moulding, including processes, materials, colours, quality control issues etc.
Our China operations team will then open a project and start the sourcing process.
You will also be contacted by one of our business development managers who will discuss your project in more detail.
On completion of the sourcing RFQ you will be supplied a quote detailing the tooling, and per unit production cost, minimal order quanity, lead time, pricing and shipping.
